Based on what has been released by a Denton Police Department spokesperson, officers responded to the car crash at 12:16 a.m. at Main St. and West University Dr. The crash between a Ford sedan, being driven by a 27-year-old man,
and a Toyota SUV, being driven by a 22-year-old man, allegedly occurred when the driver of the Toyota SUV was hit on his driver’s side door by the Ford Sedan while going through the intersection.
The car accident was so violent, the 22-year-old driver of the Toyota SUV had to be pulled from the crushed vehicle by the Denton Fire & Rescue Team. The young man was then taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.
