Deadly train collision kills two children near Mathis, Texas
A fatal accident involving a train and a car in Mathis, Texas has left two children dead, and another child in critical condition according to Caller Times.

According to the spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at 10:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2018, on County Road 1136, a few miles southeast of Mathis. According to reports, the passenger car was traveling north on a county road when it was hit by a Union Pacific train traveling westbound as it was crossing the train tracks. The impact of the crash ejected two occupants of the car. The two passengers ejected, a 12-year-old boy and 8-year-old boy, died at the scene of the accident. One of the other two occupants of the car, a 5-year-old girl, was rushed to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline with minor injuries. Police are still investigating the Texas train accident.
