TABC Probing for Alcohol Source From Fatal Rollover Crash

Earlier this month, a fatal rollover accident claimed the life of a Tuloso-Midway High School student, and the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission now wants to know how this event unfolded.

Justin Franco was 18 at the time of the accident. Franco was operating the vehicle when he and his four friends rolled over on Country Road 48. DPS investigators have stated beer bottles were found inside the car. Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission is probing where the teens may have obtained the alcohol that was found in the car that tragic day.

What caused Franco to run off the road?

What caused Franco to run off the road remains unclear, and DPS is still looking into possible causes. Franco died at the scene. The four passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Of the four, three have been released so far. One will be heading to Houston to receive additional care.

What to do if you were hit in a car accident

Being involved in an automobile accident can be overwhelming and traumatizing. If you have been hit by another vehicle, follow these steps:

Take a Moment to Breathe

It’s common to feel panic and fear after a crash occurs. Take a moment to breathe and calm yourself. If possible, pull your vehicle over to a safe location that’s away from moving traffic.

Check For Injuries

Inspect yourself for injuries. If it is difficult for you to move, remain seated. Check on the passengers in your car, if you are able, to determine if they’ve sustained any injuries. Call 911 immediately if any injury is found or if you or a passenger is experiencing any discomfort.

Report It!

An officer must come to the scene in order to make a report of the incident. It’s crucial you have proof of what happened. Request the crash identification number from the officer. If possible, obtain information regarding the other party including their phone number, address, full legal name, and insurance information.

Take A Lot of Pictures

You can’t have too many pictures when it comes to an automobile accident. Take pictures of any and all damage to both vehicles. Take pictures of the road and your surroundings, be sure to include any street signs or skid marks. If injured, take photographic evidence of all injuries.

Seek Medical Attention

After a wreck occurs, adrenaline rushes through your body. This can mask pain from injuries that may have occurred that perhaps aren’t visible to the naked eye. It’s important you get checked out by a medical professional, regardless of how small the crash may have been.
