Seatbelts can reduce the chances of serious injury after a car accident

Seat belt is one of the most important safety features of your car. It spreads the impact of collision and reduces the severity of injuries. Wearing seat belt has the following advantages

  • It ensures you are not ejected from the vehicle when involved in car accident.
  • It keeps you in place – it prevents your body from crashing into the dashboard, steering wheel, windshield or any other parts of your car.
  • It spreads the force your body absorbs from the impact of the car crash and redistributes that force to areas that can withstand the impact better.
  • It is devised to work with your airbags – airbags effectively keep you in place when you are wearing your seat belt.

Common Injuries Caused by Head-on Collisions

Physical trauma is common in a head-on collision. Resulting blunt impact from a car accident can cause the following injuries:

  • Neck injuries
  • Head injuries
  • Back injuries
  • Fractures
